Safer Inhalation Supplies
Glass Bulb Pipe Typically used to smoke crystal meth. Clean with alcohol swab prior to using. Avoid sharing pipes to prevent transmission of blood-borne illnesses (HIV, HCV) or use own mouthpiece. Let pipe cool before using again to  prevent breaking and cracking.
Glass Straight Pipe Typically used to smoke crack cocaine or can be used as a hooter. Clean with alcohol swab prior to using. Avoid sharing pipes to prevent transmission of blood-borne illnesses (HIV, HCV) or use own mouthpiece. Let pipe cool before using again to  prevent breaking and cracking.
Glass Hammer Pipe Typically used to smoke heroin. Clean with alcohol swab prior to using. Avoid sharing pipes to prevent transmission of blood-borne illnesses (HIV, HCV) or use own mouthpiece. Let pipe cool before using again to  prevent breaking and cracking.
Alcohol Swabs Use to keep pipe clean.
Brass Screens Used as a filter when smoking crack cocaine or heroin. Use screens rather than brillo as the screen should stay together better and prevent inhalation of brillo pieces. Push one screen into straight pipe at a time. The screen does not last forever and should be changed out regularly.
Push Sticks Use to push screens into straight pipe or heroin pipe, or push other particulate through pipes.
Foil 5 sheets of un-coated (cooking foil has more chemicals coating it) aluminum foil, interleaved with tissue, in a protective plastic wallet.
Hose If sharing a pipe, using your own mouth piece is a safer practice.  This hose slips right on the end of both glass pipes provided by Northreach.
Having your own mouthpiece can prevent STBBI transmission.
Chapstick Use to help heal chapped, cracked, bleeding, or burnt lips that can come from smoking substances.
Openings (burns, cuts) on the lips can transmit STBBI (Hepatitis, HIV) if smoking equipment is shared.

Safer Injection Supplies
Regular 28g Needles Used for intravenous substance use. Designed for single, individual use. Sharing and reusing of injection equipment increases risk of blood-borne illness transmission, abscesses, and other infections.
‘Short’ 29g Needles Used for intravenous substance use. These are shorter and thinner than regular needles, and might be used for smaller veins or for skin popping. Designed for single, individual use. Sharing and reusing of injection equipment increases risk of blood-borne illness transmission, abscesses, and other infections.
Alcohol Swabs Used to clean the desired injection site. Swipe across the site once or twice, use another swab if needed. Not for use after injection to wipe away blood, use post-injection pad inside cooker package.
Cookers A sterile and single use cooker of 2.5 ml (smaller than a maxicup). Its 5 different colours serve to protect against accidental sharing. . Single, individual use of cookers reduces the risk of viral transmission (HIV, HCV). Includes a post-injection pad and one cotton filter.
Maxicups A sterile and single use cooker of 5 ml (larger than a regular cooker). Its 5 different colours serve to protect against accidental sharing. Sterile Water The use of sterile water instead of other water (e.g. tap or other non-sterilized water) avoids harm from contaminated sources when injected.
Vitamin C/Ascorbic Acid Acidifiers are added to some drugs (e.g., crack cocaine, some forms of heroin) to make it easier to dissolve the drug in water so that it can be injected. Using other common acids such as lemon juice or vinegar may lead to infection.
Filters Filter out particulate matter, bacteria, and air emboli prior to injecting.
Tourniquets/Ties Tourniquets help to dilate veins, making them bigger so they are easier to find/inject into.  Available in latex and latex free.
